I consider this a portrait. It is of Hoppy Frog, probably one of very few toys that belonged to my father who was born in 1920. I remember playing with it with my grandfather when we would visit my grandparents in Sioux City, Iowa during the summer. I continued the tradition and played with it with my grandson, Cylus, for which the “C” block stands.
Some of my favorite still life subjects, pansies, Granny Smith apples and a blue Ball jar.
A beautiful borrowed crock and some persimmons naturally presented one of my favorite color combinations, blue-green and red-orange.
